Does working on 15th August automatically count as overtime under the Factories Act, 1948?1/23/2026
If a worker works on 15th August for normal hours, they get double wages (holiday wages) but not overtime. If they work beyond 9 hours/day or 48 hours/week, then overtime under the Factories Act applies in addition to the holiday benefit.
