Good Morning All, Vanakkum Respected Organizers, Distinguished Guests, and Fellow HR Professionals, It is with immense gratitude that I stand before you today. I sincerely thank the organizers of the Tamil Nadu HR Conference for inviting me as a guest and providing this wonderful opportunity to share our experiences from Karnataka. It is truly an honour to be part of your 10th conference here in Hosur. Tamilnadu HR professionals first conceived the idea for this remarkable conference, but my heartfelt appreciation goes to you all—the value it brings to HR professionals is truly outstanding. In Kannada, poet Kuvempu, the renowned Kannada poet and Jnanapeeta Awardee once said: ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಲಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಕೈ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಜೇಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ (If all poets in the world were made to stand in a line, one’s hand would be in the another’s pocket), meaning that every poet draws inspiration from others. In the same spirit, we drew inspiration from your conference, brought the idea to Karnataka, and have now been celebrating it successfully for eight years. Thank you for inspiring us.
Nine years ago, under the trust of Nirathanka NGO, in collaboration with NIPM Karnataka Chapter, BUSWAA, and several other professional bodies—and with the invaluable guidance of Mr. B.C. Prabhakar, President, Karnataka Owners Association and Advocate, BCP Associates and Mr. S.N. Murthy, Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka—we, the founders of the HR Kannada Conference (Mr. Shekhar G.N., Mr. Prakash RM, Mr. Jayaram Ramaiah, Mr. G.P. Naik, Mr. Ravi Sathyakumar and many friends from the HR and Social Work fraternity), embarked on this journey. What began as inspiration from this very Tamil Nadu HR Conference has now grown into a vibrant platform for HR professionals across Karnataka. As a student of Kannada literature, I deeply cherish the cultural and linguistic bond between Tamil and Kannada. Our languages share a rich brotherhood—many Kannada words grace Tamil scriptures, and numerous Tamil words enrich Kannada literature. Language is not merely a tool for communication—it shapes our identity, broadens our perspectives, and nurtures empathy. I am also grateful to many Tamil stalwarts who supported me personally in my professional journey. During my Master’s in Social Work, Mr. Isrel Imbaraj was my first guide, and the late Prof. T.K. Nair, retired professor of the Madras School of Social Work, was my mentor. Their guidance has left a lasting impact on my professional life. Our core objectives in organizing the HR Kannada Conference are:
I firmly believe that to act globally with empathy and inclusiveness, HR professionals must first think locally—by understanding and respecting local language, culture, and values. In today’s fast-changing business environment, HR is no longer just a support function; it is the driving force behind culture, employee well-being, diversity, and innovation. Conferences like this remind us that learning, networking, and sharing experiences are essential to staying relevant and impactful. Key Milestones of the 1st to 8th HR Kannada Conferences:
I am delighted to announce that the 9th State-Level HR Professionals Kannada Conference will be held on Saturday, 8th November 2025, at The Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore. I warmly invite each of you to join us in this continued journey of learning, recognition, and collaboration. Thank you once again for this honour. I look forward to meaningful exchanges, building new connections, and learning from the wealth of experience present in this room today.
